Speed Up Your Computer

There are many different ways that you may help speed up your computer. I will name two ways that are built-in with Windows computers that you may use at any time. They typically help your computer speed up somewhat.

Disk Cleanup
1) Click on the Start Menu, go to All Programs. Searching from the top down, you will see Accessories as one of the top choices. From Accessories, head to System Tools, then Disk Cleanup.
2) Select what drive you wish to be cleaned, typically this is the C: drive.
*Note: It may take several minutes to hours for this scan to finish.
3) Now you may check and uncheck files as needed, but I would just stick with what the computer came set up with. Click OK, and wait for the files to be deleted.
*Note: This may take quite a while to complete as well.

Disk Defrag
1) Click on the Start Menu, go to All Programs. Searching from the top down, you will see Accessories as one of the top choices. From Accessories, head to System Tools, then Disk Defragmenter.
2) You will see a list of all drives on your computer from here. Select which drive you wish to defragment, typically C: drive.
3) From here, select Analyze. After the analysis is complete, your computer will tell you whether it suggests a defragmentation or not. You may continue with one if you think it is necessary.
*Note: Disk defrags can take up to several hours.
You should also complete a defrag at least one every month.

I hope this helps you with your slow computers!
